Composite oscillator
Vibrator that lowers acoustic impedance
Composite transducers are structures where grooves are processed in ceramics, and resin is filled into those grooves. In conventional piezoelectric elements, when ultrasonic waves are emitted from objects with different sound speeds, such as air to water or biological tissues, the ultrasonic waves are hindered by the acoustic impedance barrier (which is the product of density and sound speed), making efficient emission difficult. Composite transducers can reduce density by decreasing the volume of the piezoelectric element, which in turn can lower the acoustic impedance. This feature is utilized in medical applications, flaw detection, sonar, and more. Our company offers three types of standard products and also accepts custom manufacturing of composite transducers.
